My name is Sarah Smith and I am a graduate of Hobart and William Smith Colleges, a liberal arts school in Geneva, NY. I graduated in May 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Society, concentrating in production, and a minor in History. My whole life, I have had a love for film and a fascination with production. My coursework has allowed me to sharpen my skills, especially when it comes to film editing using Premiere Pro. I currently am Head Sailing Coach at King Harbor Youth Foundation.

at HWS, classes such as The Video Essay, Film Editing, and Global Animation have given me opportunities to find my creative voice and tell stories through film. I have also been fortunate to study photography abroad in the south of France, where I began to develop camera skills. This has allowed me to become proficient in Photoshop.

Something unique to my experience at school was being a starting member of the varsity sailing team and a captain my senior year. As a student athlete and teammate, I understand how to work as a member of a group towards a collective goal as well as have experience in high-pressure situations such as competing at the national level. Now that I have graduated, I am excited to see what the next chapter has in store. It is my dream to work among creative filmmakers to share stories.
